Our VDP estate wines are a seductive introduction to the Karthäuserhof universe. They combine the characteristics of our wines and our locations in a calling card for the winery.
A VDP.Ortswein is the expression of the best vineyards of a specific location, tailored to the unique terroir of the region. In our case, this means an authentic taste experience of the typical reddish Devonian slate terroir from Eitelsbach. All of our local wines come from vines that are at least 50 years old.
VDP. Grosse Lage wines all come exclusively from the legendary monopoly location Karthäuserhofberg. They are the expression of the interplay of optimal sunlight, cool nights and soil structures from the Devonian period, which give our wines their unmistakable minerality, complex structure and elegant acidity.
