This Karthäuserhof experience took us to Mallorca – and to the story of Can2Pedros, "the house of the two Peters." What began with the simple pressing of olives has evolved into a project that unites land, memory, and hospitality. For Peter Schmale, who grew up on a farm, tending the finca is more than just agriculture – it's a return to his roots. Observing the olives grow, harvesting them, and creating their essence in the kitchen completes a beautiful circle. As the former chef and owner of the Schlemmereule restaurant in Trier, Peter Schmale has now handed the business over to Johannes Kneip. But his vision lives on – in Mallorca, where sea, sun, and earth come together in a way that feels both timeless and deeply personal.
